Missing, Lost or Stolen Orders
If you believe your delivery to be missing, lost or stolen, you will need to contact the courier service directly to submit a claim. Check the tracking information email you received from W Store after your order was shipped to determine if your delivery was shipped using UPS or Purolator. Then, contact the appropriate courier using the contact information below:

How does the curbside pickup program work?
W Store now offers a free, contactless curbside pickup service out of South Campus Hall (SCH) as an alternative delivery option for your online order.
Just select the "Curbside Pickup | SCH" option under the "Campus Pick-up" tab at checkout and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be redirected to Portal to schedule your pickup time (within 2-7 business days from the date you placed your order). You must place your order on wstore.ca prior to booking your curbside pickup appointment.
To ensure proper physical distancing protocols are followed, make sure to arrive only for the pickup time you have selected. If you arrive early, please wait a safe distance from the South Campus Hall pickup location until it is your turn. If you arrive too early, or too late, you may be asked to reschedule your pickup appointment.
You will need to have your student number and order number ready to provide to a W Store staff member. W Store staff will retrieve your order and place it on a table near the door. Remember to practice proper physical distancing protocols and to stay home if you are feeling unwell.

January 2021 Return Updates:
In compliance with government mandates, W Store and W Print will be operating online-only until further notice.
Returns for in-store purchases may be facilitated at a W Store or W Store Essentials location once our physical store locations are permitted to reopen. Please see below for details.
Returns for online/curbside pickup purchases may be mailed back to W Store or dropped off at our contactless curbside pickup location in South Campus Hall during the following hours of operation: January 11 - 29, 2021, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. No appointment required. Please see below for details.
Important notice: Due to a large volume of orders, web order returns may take up to five weeks to be processed.
Textbooks and Course Materials Return Deadline
Textbooks and course materials must be postmarked by or returned in-person before the listed return deadline. The return deadline for the Winter 2021 academic term is January 29, 2021. After this date, refunds for special circumstances are at the discretion of store management.
Access codes, e-texts and other digital course materials that have not been redeemed are returnable subject to the Textbooks and Course Materials Return Deadline. All digital course material returns should be emailed to wstore@uwaterloo.ca and must include a completed copy of the the W Store Web Return Form. Returns for access codes that have been redeemed are at the discretion of store management and subject to approval.
All University of Waterloo courseware is final sale.
General Merchandise Return Deadline (Clothing, School Supplies, Dorm Essentials, Gift Items, etc.)
General merchandise items must be postmarked by or returned in-person within 30 days of the first delivery attempt. After this date, refunds for special circumstances are at the discretion of store management.
Holiday Shopping Extension: General merchandise items purchased as holiday gifts may be returned on or before January 29, 2021.
Provincial Lockdown Extension: Due to the temporary closure of our physical retail locations in compliance with government mandates, returns for purchases made in-store will be facilitated at a W Store or W Store Essentials location once our physical store locations are permitted to reopen. The return deadline for in-person returns of general merchandise items has been extended to March 15, 2021.
All returns must include a completed copy of the W Store Web Return Form (if purchased online), along with the original invoice/receipt.
Refunds will be processed in Canadian dollars.
Any items marked final sale or clearance are not applicable to receive a refund.
If your order was cancelled, or you received a partial shipment, a refund will be processed automatically.
Returns will be processed to the same method of payment used in the original transaction.
Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Returns sent via mail/courier will be shipped at buyer’s expense. A shipment method with a tracking number is recommended.
All returned items are subject to inspection and at the discretion of W Store. Must include original tags, and be unopened in original selling condition. Please package securely to avoid damage in shipping.
We cannot accept returns for the following items: Drinkware, face masks, convocation hoods, faculty-approved calculators, courseware, course kits and custom orders.

Log in to UWaterloo Booklook with your UWaterloo email and password to view your personalized book list. You can also search by term and course.

If there are multiple formats (e.g. print or digital) of the same textbook listed for one course, please select only one.

UWaterloo BookLook is updated as soon as course material requests from course instructors are submitted and processed. If you are not seeing any materials listed for one or more of your courses, it’s possible that your instructor has not yet had the chance to submit their textbook selection, or that their selection is still being processed. That said, some courses simply do not require the purchase of textbooks or course materials, or are not available for purchase from W Store.
We recommend contacting your course instructor for updated textbook and course material requirements.
What do I do if a textbook or course material is out of stock?
Please feel free to continue with your transaction and we will ship the backordered/out of stock title to you as soon as it comes in.
If you have additional textbooks or course materials in your shopping cart that are in stock, we will ship those to you as soon as the order is processed, and will ship the backordered/out of stock title separately, at no additional cost to you.
I cancelled /returned my order. Why is there still a charge on my credit card?
The line item you are seeing on your credit card statement is a temporary preauthorization hold, not a charge. Once your cancellation/refund has been processed by our e-commerce team, the hold will be removed.
Please note that it may take several weeks to see this reflected on your credit card statement, depending on your financial institution. You can contact your financial institution directly for more information or to inquire about releasing the hold faster.
When must course materials be returned by?
Course Materials (including textbooks, study guides, iClickers, access codes and solutions manuals) are returnable for a full refund until the return deadline indicated on your receipt. The return deadline for the Winter 2021 academic term is January 29, 2021.
After this date, refunds for special circumstances (e.g. withdrawing from a course) are at the discretion of store management and may be subject to a 50% refund. You must be able to provide proof of course withdrawal.
After the last day of lectures, no refund will be provided.
What are the conditions for returns?
All returned items are subject to inspection and at the discretion of W Store. Must include original tags, and be unopened in original selling condition. Shrink-wrapped textbooks and packages must remain unopened. If you are sending your return by mail/courier, please package securely to avoid damage in shipping.
All returns must include the original invoice/receipt, along with a completed copy of the W Store Web Return Form if purchased online.

What are final sale items?
Items marked as “Final Sale” cannot be returned or exchanged. Final sale items also include custom orders, school rings, convocation hoods, face masks, drinkware, calculators, headsets, headphones, earbuds, ink jet cartridges, custom configured computers, demo products, software licenses, lab manuals, DVDs, sale or bargain books, dictionaries, medical reference books, bar charts, lab supplies, print on demand rainchecks, student agendas, reference test books (LSAT, MCAT, etc.) and select course supplies kits (e.g., dissection and molecular model kits).
Can I return courseware?
Custom-printed University of Waterloo courseware is final sale and not eligible for refund. No exceptions.
Can I return an e-text access code?
Access codes that have not been redeemed are returnable subject to the Textbooks and Course Materials Return Deadline. The return deadline for the Fall 2020 academic term is October 2, 2020. All access code returns must include a completed copy of the W Store Web Return Form.

How do I reset my W Store account password?
You can reset your password through the University of Waterloo’s Identity and Access Management (WatIAM) system: https://uwaterloo.ca/watiam/.
When I try to place an order on wstore.ca, I receive a “transaction declined” message before I even put in my payment information.
We’ve identified a system error that causes issues if your name or address contains certain punctuation marks like apostrophes. Please try again, omitting the punctuation mark. If the punctuation is a key part of your information, please send an email to wstore@uwaterloo.ca after placing your order and we will update your order information.
I cancelled /returned my order. Why is there still a charge on my credit card?
