Nesting season is upon us. Do you have a great design idea to feature for our next collection? We want to see it!
Submit your design file by February 8 for a chance to win a prize bundle featuring your design!
Contest Details:
• Contest runs from January 14 to February 8 at 11:59 pm.
• One grand prize design will be selected and the winner will receive a prize bundle including the tee shirt featuring the winning design in their choice of size (once in stock).
Design files will be chosen on the following criteria:
• Designs are judged on overall creativity, visual appeal, wow factor and design specifications below.
Other criteria the judges will take into consideration, but are not limited to:
• Expression of Theme
• Overall Impression/Impact
• Level of Detail
• Inspiration to Others
• Artistic Merit
Rules:
1. Must be a current University of Waterloo student, faculty, staff or alumni to enter.
2. Entry design cannot include the official University of Waterloo logo or typography.
3. All entries must be submitted to wstore@uwaterloo.ca as a high-resolution PDF file using the following naming convention: [Your First Name]_[Your Last Name]_ NestingDesignContest2026.
4. All entries must be received by February 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
5. All entries must be original work, free from copyright and must not have been previously submitted to a contest.
6. All submissions must be the original work of the entrant. Designs must not include any content created or generated using artificial intelligence tools or software. Submissions found to violate this rule will be disqualified.
7. All entries will contribute to the existence of a just and supportive community based on equality and respect for individual differences, as complies with the University of Waterloo’s Policy 33.
8. Entries will only be accepted by email via wstore@uwaterloo.ca (High-Res PDF format ONLY).
9. Judges’ decisions will be final.
10. By entering the contest, you grant W Store a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your submitted design for the 2026 Nesting Season Collection and any future merchandise or product collections. This includes the right to reproduce, display, distribute, and incorporate the design on merchandise. W Store may use the design in whole or in part, extract and use individual elements, and make minor or necessary edits for production or branding purposes (such as adding the school name, resizing, or adjusting colours). W Store may also modify, adapt, rework, or use the design or its elements as inspiration to create new or derivative artwork for future merchandise.
11. By entering the contest, you're giving the University of Waterloo and W Store permission to use the design on any/all official University of Waterloo and W Store social media channels, email newsletters, websites and to be reproduced for future marketing materials both in print and online at will.
12. In the event that submitted designs do not meet our creative or production standards, we reserve the right to create an in-house design, select from previous submissions, or forgo the collection entirely.
Design specifications:
• No more than 4 colours can be included in the final design. The colour profile is to be in CMYK. Please don’t use any gradients in the design.
• The artwork imprint area should be sized to 10.5 inches by 16.5 inches.
• The design will be featured on the left chest or center of the tee shirt.
